One of the very simplest remedies you can start with is the flower essence. They are primarily remedies of the mind and emotions over the physical directly, but you can know results on all levels of your being by starting anywhere and following the wellbeing at it grows.
A flower essence is the energetic imprint in water of a flower. The water captures the bioelectric field of the flower in the water by way of heat/light. The sun or the moon are the heat/light source. In some cases applied heat in the form of boiling the water-depending on the particular flower you are working with- is used. They are made in nature with the elements playing an actively participatory role. Air, fire, earth, water and ether are all constituents of the flower essence. Ether being the most subtle element is that space which all the other elements fill, the akasha. All the elements are key as everything is made up of them in a particular combination. And here the ether brings in the sattvic quality, allows for expansion, stimulates awareness and facilitates emotion change.
Snowdrop
She shows us courage with humility as she is the first to raise up through the earth even while the snow surrounds her. The harbinger of spring’s renewal and hope combined with the grief of the passing season, yet reminding us to embrace grief, accept our emotions and encourages us to move forward. Cleansing and purity.
Crocus
She is about acceptance, release and soft openings. Notice how the spring light of the sun before it has reached it’s summer zenith reveals the soft petals that open with golden stamen to penetrate the heart and release pain and tension. The tiny crocus stands to its full height in pure joy! Be present in perseverance no matter the circumstances. Move stuck emotional pain.
The safety is inherent in the form this medicine takes. Although this is a subtle energetic imprint, it is a powerful agent to clear and settle the mind. You are empowered to activate your ability to self heal. You will need certain ingredients; the flower, water, sunlight or moonlight, bottles, a glass bowl, some brandy, time, as well as the ability to be still, feel emotions and be self aware of what it is you are feeling or sensing about your present state of being. If any of these are challenging, no worries, as the process of making this medicine is medicine itself. Simply open yourself up to the possibility of healing, even when that means ‘fake it til you make it’.
Choose the flower with 100% accuracy. Place the blooms in a bowl of pure spring water and allow them to sit in the sun or under the light of the moon for several hours. Gratitude toward the plants and holding intention is necessary when making any medicine. Strain the water and mix equal parts brandy with your essence. This is the ‘mother’. To share this flower essence you place 2 ml in 30 ml of brandy and take it internally sublingually or place a few drops on a chakra, or place essence into a mist body and mist a room or around your body to clear and cleanse. Pay attention to shifts which may take up to a month to truly notice with continued use.
